How Long Should A Massage Last?

Now, the majority of people out there seem to believe that a massage is a relaxing activity. It is, at least to some extent. After you undergo a massage, you are going to feel brilliant. You do, however, also need to remember that it is an incredibly physical activity. Your muscles are being worked, often at a very extensive pace. This means that you are going to need to have a decent about of physical fitness to get through the longest of massages. Some people are able to get through thirty minutes of massage, others are able to get through two hours of massage and be ‘ready to go’ again. It is going to be different for everybody. You will very quickly discover that the more massage you undergo, the longer you will be able to put up with it!
It is also going to be dependent on the type of massage that you undergo. A general massage is going to be a lot less rigorous on your body than, say, a deep Thai massage. For the most part, however, you will be able to put up with about an hour of being massage before you start to feel any negative effects. However, if you are undergoing a professional massage, then make sure you talk to your masseuse if you start to feel dizzy. They will know if the session needs to be ended, or whether they are able to carry out a slightly less intensive massage to ensure that you are able to get through the session.
What About from an Electronic Massager?
Being massaged with a massage chair is slightly different, obviously. Generally speaking, a massage chair is going to come close to the experience that a massage from a masseuse offers, but it will not quite be there. One of the major benefits of a massage chair is that you can tailor the experience to your own individual needs. For example, you can change the type of massage that it offers or the intensity of the massage. You can even select the area that is being targeted. This means that you can change the experience should the massage not feel quite right for you.
Remember, if you start to feel in pain from the massage, or maybe a little bit dizzy, then you should stop the whole thing as soon as you can. There are some people out there who will sit in their massage chair, with it switched on, for hours and hours on end. This is not going to be good for your muscles at all. It is suggested that you try to have it on for thirty minutes to an hour at a time. This will allow you to relax whilst also ensuring that your muscles do not end up ‘over worked’
