Inada Dreamwave Review
The Inada "Sogno" Dreamwave was, at one point, regarded as one of the best massage chairs in the world. Inada has recently upgraded it to make it more awesome. Of course, a few chairs have superseded it in recent years, however, that doesn’t mean that the Dreamwave is any less brilliant. Oh no. If you are after a fantastic chair at a brilliant price, then you would do well with this one.
Introduction to the Inada Dreamwave
The Inada Dreamwave has been developed by experienced Japanese engineers. The idea behind the Inada Dreamwave was to craft a chair which seamlessly blended modern technology and the art of Shiatsu massage. Having sat on this chair for a while, I can tell you that this is something which they have accomplished rather well.
The chair provides an all-over body massage. We are going to jump into the features of this particular chair in a while. All you really need to know right now is that this chair delivers one of the most blissful massages you will have ever have experienced. This comes as no surprise really as it covers almost 1,200 square inches with its massage power. This means that it is one of the ‘best’ on the market in that regard.
To cap it all off, the chair actually looks remarkably great. This isn’t just a chair that you are going to be pulling out for a quick massage every now and then. This is a chair which has been designed to look beautiful. It would not look out of place in any living room which has a bit of a modern-tinge to it.
Features of the Inada Dreamwave
It is nigh on impossible to discuss absolutely every single feature which has been packed into this beautiful chair. However, I am going to take the time to discuss some of the main features i.e. the ones which are going to be most important when it comes to a fantastic massage.
As I mentioned before, this chair has an incredibly broad massage coverage. It covers well over 1,200 square inches. You will struggle to find a chair on the market which even comes close to that. This means that your whole body is going to be getting a massage, not just a few select points (which is no fun).
When you sit in that chair for the first time, it will instantly scan your body. It will be scanning for very specific pressure points. By doing this, it will be able to customize a massage based upon your body type. The Inada Dreamwave has over 106 body types built into the programming. This, essentially, means that everybody is going to get their own personal massage.
At the heart of the massage chair are sixteen different shiatsu massage sessions. You are freely able to select between these. Each has its own specific purpose. For example, the night massage is there to relax you just before you sleep. The morning massage is there to wake you up in the morning, and the youth massage is there to provide a slightly gentler massage experience for the young and the old. Of course, you do not have to stick to the pre-programmed massages if you do not wish to do so. You can easily play about with that remote control and customize the massage to your own needs.
I think one of the real highlights of this particular massage chair is the ‘stretch’ functionality. It is fantastic. I mean, It will gently stretch your shoulders, mid-back, and hips in one of three different ways. It is the perfect way to wake up in the morning (or just to relax after a long, hard day at work)
Just to cap off the massage functionality of this chair (of which there is tons which I have yet to dive into), you will be pleased that the following exist:
- The Inada Dreamwave is the only massage chair on the market which offers a lliotibial band massage for the hips and thighs. This is something which you will truly enjoy. These are, of course, very large muscles. However, most massage chairs on the market are a little bit too rough with them. This massage is firm, but gentle. It provides a high level of relaxation. The experience just beats the best foot massager out there.
- There are 20 air cells which provide a dedicated massage to the entirety of your arms (including your hands)
- The massage movements of the chair have been designed to closely imitate the very motions that your physical therapist or chiropractor may carry out. Basically, sitting in this chair is going to be very much akin to receiving a ‘hands on’ massage, although you have the comfort of undergoing it in the comfort of your own living room.
- Finally, the remote on the Inada Dreamwave is drastically simple to use. It has just a few buttons on it, which is surprising considering how sophisticated this chair is. However, after playing about with it for a while, I can tell you that it is remarkably intuitive. It only takes a couple of clicks to change any function that you want on the chair. There are very few chairs on the market which come close to the ‘ease of use’ that the Inada Dreamwave boasts.
Now, obviously, the Inada Dreamwave is not a cheap massage chair. However, I really do feel that it does deserve the ‘price tag’ attached to it. This is one of the most well-built massage chairs that I have ever had the pleasure of sitting in. The upholstery is just so comfortable. I never got the feeling that it was going to wear down over time, or that the chair would just ‘give up’ on me. After going through a number of other reviews before I wrote this, it seems others feel the same way. However, in the rare case something does go wrong, Inada provides a pretty decent warranty for you.
If you are looking for a top-quality massage chair, I whole-heartily recommend the Inada Dreamwave.
